How to Use the EasyWrappe Calculator for Perfect Prints

The EasyWrappe Calculator (EWC) is a lightweight, free software program designed to instantly determine the minimum raw canvas print size needed to mount artwork onto stretcher bars using the popular Breathing Color EasyWrappe system. Created independently by developer and photographer Michael Burns, the calculator prevents artists and print shops from wasting expensive large-format canvas media on miscalculated print sizes. Core Functionality

When creating a gallery wrap canvas, you cannot simply print the final frame size. You must add extra physical canvas—called border allowance—to cover the thickness (depth) of the stretcher bars and wrap around to the back.

The calculator eliminates manual math errors by cross-referencing your desired finished frame dimensions against the specific requirements of the two primary EasyWrappe framing systems:

EasyWrappe Standard (1.25” Profile): Requires adding a minimum of 1.5 inches (2 inches recommended) of border to all four sides of the image. This equates to adding 3 to 4 inches total to both the overall print width and length.

EasyWrappe Pro (1.75” Profile): Requires adding a minimum of 2 inches (3 inches recommended) of border to all four sides. This equates to adding 4 to 6 inches total to both the overall print width and length. Key Benefits

Prevents Waste: Eliminates the risk of printing a high-cost Giclée file only to realize during assembly that the canvas is too short to fold over the corners. Accounts for Bleed: Dynamically includes the crucial extra

-inch trim or border “bleed” needed to properly align the image on the adhesive rails.

Saves Pre-Production Time: Acts as a rapid “quick and dirty” layout check right before loading media into your wide-format print queue. Compatibility and Limitations

The program is built as a simple desktop utility. Note that it is an independent user-created tool and is not officially developed or formally supported by the manufacturer, Breathing Color. While it features fully signed binary installers for standard Windows environments, it has not been systematically updated or optimized for newer operating systems like Windows 11.
