The restore process is straightforward and can be done directly through the desktop software. Step 1: Download and Install the Software
If you are using a new or freshly formatted computer, you must first reinstall Livedrive. Download the software from the official Livedrive website, install it, and log into your account. Step 2: Open the Restore Tool
Once logged in, open the Livedrive Control Center on your computer.
On Windows, look for the Livedrive icon in your system tray (bottom right corner).
On Mac, look for the Livedrive icon in the menu bar (top right corner).
Click the icon and select Restore Files (or open the Control Center and navigate to the Restore tab). Step 3: Choose the Device and Files
Livedrive organizes backups by the name of the computer they came from.
Select the name of the computer that holds the files you want to recover. Browse through the folder structure to find your files.
Check the boxes next to the specific folders or files you want to bring back. You can select everything or just a single item. Step 4: Choose the Restore Location
You must tell Livedrive where to put the recovered files. You have two choices:
Original Location: This puts the files back exactly where they used to be.

If you only need to recover one or two files quickly, you do not need the desktop app. Log into your account at Livedrive.com.
Click on Briefcase or Backup depending on where the file is stored. Find your file, click on it, and select Download. Important Tips for a Smooth Restore
Check Your Internet Connection: Large restores (hundreds of gigabytes) require a stable and fast internet connection. Use a wired Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi if possible.
Use File History: Livedrive keeps older versions of your files. If you accidentally saved over a document, you can right-click the file in the restore window to view and download a version from a previous date.
Do Not Interrupt the Process: If you close your laptop or lose internet, Livedrive will pause. It will usually resume when you reconnect, but it is best to let it run uninterrupted.
